Going to the Chapel...

The year is 1991; the movie is Father of the Bride, just released in VHS, conveniently during my summer break after 1st grade. The beauty of VHS was that I could eat my lunch or take a nap while the movie would rewind and than I could watch it all over again. And I did just that. I had the entire movie memorized by age 7, maybe 8 (I get my childhood years mixed up). I had never been to a wedding but all I ever envisioned was wearing a dress with shoulder pads, dealing with a party planner named Fronc, and dancing with my Dad to the song “The way you look tonight” all while hearing the melody of “Going to the chapel and I’m going to get married… and I’m…” in the background. My taste might have changed since but I still hear that song in my head anytime I think of my wedding; I really wish I could have had a wedding planner so I didn’t stress myself and my family out so much; and of course I wish I could have that dance. But I still get the fairytale wedding because at the end of the day I am marrying the man I so dearly love.

Ahhh I am so excited! I just can’t hide it! I know I know I know I know I know I know I want you! I want you!

See, my entire life has suddenly become a musical.
